How has the New Year treated you so far?
Mine has been very busy, but I feel blessed, I must admit. The year started out on a very positive note.
I was an invited panelist at the launch of Audaja's new skincare line, and it was spectacular. I love interacting with people and debunking myths (all thanks to the social media info overload we have today!)
I live and breathe medicine and have been on a mission to educate and inspire people toward healthy aging. As I always say-
Being able to help people transform their lives for the better is very satisfying, and I can only do it because of all the love and blessings I receive from all of you. Thank you!
On that note, you must check out Audaja's skincare line. It is curated by a young girl in her twenties. Audrey is not only brilliant but also driven by a mission to create products that benefit all.
On that inspiring note, let's dive into this week's highlights.
What's Happening?
A study published in Nutrients reveals that wasabi root demonstrated memory-boosting effects in a three-month trial involving healthy subjects aged 60 to 80, as participants who consumed wasabi extract experienced significant improvements in working and episodic memory.
Why?
The main bioactive compound of wasabi is 6-MSITC (6 methylsulfonyl hexyl isothiocyanate), which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions.
Anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories have an important role in cognitive health. Therefore, 6-MSITC is expected to have positive effects on cognitive function. Previous studies showed the beneficial effects on cognitive functions in middle-aged adults, but none have shown the beneficial effects in the older age group until now.
So, the next time, you may consider either firing up your taste buds or getting your hands on a clean supplement that makes 6-MSITC in the bio-available form.
What's Happening?
An article published in the International Journal of Women's Health showed the relationship between menopause and sarcopenia in women.
It highlights that menopause, marked by hormonal changes, can accelerate or contribute to sarcopenia. Which in turn can lead to functional impairment and physical disability.
Why?
Sarcopenia is the loss of muscle tissue as a natural part of the aging process. Lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet (adequate protein, vitamin D, omega-3 intake), regular physical activity, and hormone therapy (only if indicated) are ways by which you can prevent the loss of muscle mass and hence reduce the risks caused by sarcopenia's risk.
I have always stressed the importance of getting good quality protein through grass-fed and finished meat and high-quality bone broth and collagen-like this one.
I explain a lot about collagen in detail in this video.
I really want you to try Audaja's skincare line products. I have met the people behind the brand personally and can assure you that they have nothing but pure intentions in their hearts, which is reflected in their work. Their products are created with different skin types in mind.
You can learn to identify your skin type here. Then, according to your needs and concerns, you can choose the type of product you want to target a concern for specifically.
For example, the brightly cream has ingredients such as kojic acid and licorice root extract that are powerful skin-lightening agents.
I like supporting good initiatives and sharing products that are true value for money. One can easily spend a good amount in one session at the parlor or an aesthetician's office. But you don't need to spend a fortune to look good. You must use the right products and keep your internal clock ticking well.

In this video, we will learn to prepare a very simple and effective anti-dandruff hair oil. I had received a lot of queries related to this, so it was high time I shared what I was recommending to all my clients related to this topic.

Dear Reader It is believed that EMFs are the biggest environmental toxins today. They’re circulating everywhere, all the time, in high amounts. The main cause of concern is that EMFs can cause Inflammation within the body EMF waves do not pass through the body. They get stuck in cells, causing inflammation. Hi Reader, Happy New Year! New Year’s resolutions often ask us to push, hustle, and force our way into becoming better at a time when every natural rhythm around us is whispering… Rest. Pause. Go inward You see, winter isn’t just cold weather and shorter days—it’s a season with a purpose. In nature, animals hibernate and plants slow down. Life contracts, pulls inward, and focuses on renewal. And this is a mirror of what happens energetically during our inner winter—the phase in our cycle when...
Dear Reader Ever walk into a room and forget why you’re there? We often blame these “duh” moments on getting older. But science now shows that there are things you come into contact with daily that can steal your memory faster than aging alone. Here are 4 surprising memory thieves to watch out for: 1.
